We can tailor therapy for each individual

There are many modern therapy techniques available today which can quickly get to the root of the problem. They help you replace your unwanted thoughts, feelings, beliefs and behaviours with more positive ones.

Hypnotherapy is an excellent way to re-program the subconscious mind so that it behaves in ways which help you rather than hinder you.

EMDR can help you process traumatic events and re-categorise them in your brain so that the memory of them no longer causes negative physiological and psychological responses.

Talking therapies, along with NLP, CBT and EFT, can all be used to help you re-frame the things that are causing you problems, helping you to find a positive path forward.

Mindfulness practices can help you focus on the present, rather than worrying about the past or the future.

A combination of all these techniques can really help you make powerful and positive changes in your life. Please contact us for more info on how we can help you.

“After seeking guidance to overcome a recent challenge with public speaking, my sessions with Susan led to a transformational improvement.”

Hypnotherapy allows us to access the ‘programming’ in our subconscious mind which is not normally accessible to us. Often, we have programmes running which are maladaptive, harmful or no longer needed. These programmes influence our thoughts, feelings and behaviours, negatively affecting the way that we see the world and operate within it.

Our conscious mind only becomes aware of around 40 bits of information out of the 11 million bits of information the brain receives every second. Information is passed from our senses to our ancient brain structures, such as the amygdala and hypothalamus. These systems pattern match the information coming in, compare it to previous similar experiences, and then pass that information to our subconscious mind to process. All of this happens without any conscious awareness at all.

The subconscious mind often then tries to ‘help us’ by removing us from situations and people that it considers harmful – even if our conscious mind doesn’t want that. It does this by causing us to experience fears, phobias, anxiety, stress and other negative beliefs and emotions. Because the subconscious mind is activated before the conscious mind, we have often responded to situations in unhelpful ways before we’ve even had a chance to be aware of what we are doing.

With Susan’s support, I have been able to move from unhelpful patterns of thought and behaviour to a more positive and future facing mindset.”

The subconscious can also drive us towards unhelpful thoughts and behaviours because it thinks that they are good for us – even when our conscious mind desperately wants to stop those unwanted thoughts and behaviours.

If things have felt good to us in the past, even momentarily, the subconscious mind can cause us to want to do them again and again, no matter how hard we try not to. This can cause us to become addicted to smoking, alcohol and drugs. Or, we can binge-eat or become addicted to sugar, causing us to experience weight-issues.

These behaviours then become intertwined with the good things in our lives, such as our social life, friendships and family, success at work, feelings of safety and any number of things that make it harder and harder to deal with the original issue.

“After working with Susan I went to the meeting expecting to feel the usual nerves and anxiety and it took me a while to realise that they just weren’t there any more!”

By using hypnotherapy techniques, we can access our inner-mind directly. We can bypass the programmes we no longer need, and instead replace them with programmes that are positive and helpful for us, unravelling complex issues and eliminating unwanted behaviours. We are then free to lead a happier, healthier and more positive life.

By changing our inner mind, we change the way that we see and interact with the world. We create a new and more positive ‘reality tunnel’, one which no longer contains thoughts, beliefs and behaviours that no longer serve us. EMDR

EMDR, which stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a structured psychotherapy treatment designed to help individuals process traumatic events and memories. It reduces the emotional distress associated with those memories by disrupting the pattern recognition that occurs in the brain when the person thinks about the event.

EMDR works by using bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements or sounds played in alternate ears, while the traumatic memories are recalled. This, together with talking therapies, helps the brain to re-categorise the memories in a way that no longer causes a trauma response.

EMDR is recognised by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and the World Health Organisation (WHO) as a treatment for PTSD. However, it can also be help with many other mental health difficulties, including stress, anxiety, addictions, weight management, unwanted behaviours and relationship issues.
