“Susan is warm, friendly and professional… Creating a safe and supportive space for anyone seeking growth and empowerment…”

In today’s world, it’s very common to feel like we’re drowning in the stresses and anxiety caused by modern day living.
Workplace stress is endemic. Our jobs pile un-ending pressure on us, without seeming to care for us as individuals at all. We have to juggle work and family responsibilities, leaving us feeling like we don’t have any time left to decompress or enjoy life. We are fed a constant stream of bad news on a 24 hour cycle, which just increases our feelings of general unease. We often feel like we are barely surviving – pushing through each day feeling unhappy, unfulfilled, hopeless and exhausted.
Those negative emotions then build and multiply, affecting every part of our lives. We become constantly stressed or anxious. We develop unhelpful thoughts, beliefs and behaviours, or fears and phobias. We feel like we can never break free.
“Susan has supported me to find healthy and effective strategies to manage my symptoms of anxiety and depression.”

To help us cope, we often develop bad habits, but they just make us feel worse. We turn to drinking, smoking, binge-eating – or other, even more destructive habits – causing us to feel guilt and shame. Our relationships with those closest to us suffer and we can end up isolated and alone.
Trauma, PTSD and CPTSD
Sometimes, we can suffer such a traumatic event that it effectively rewires our brains and, often, our entire nervous system (PTSD). This can also happen when we suffer periods of prolonged and intense stress, particularly as children (CPTSD).
We no longer have ‘normal’ responses to the world around us. We can become, on the one hand dissociated in general, and on the other hand extremely sensitised to triggering events. We may lose the ability to turn our thoughts off and may end up constantly reliving the traumatising event, or become stuck in negative thought patterns.
We can start to feel that the world is not a safe place and our nervous system responds to that belief, locking us in the ‘fight or flight’ stress response, causing illness, digestive issues, insomnia and nervous exhaustion.
“Susan helped me release the obstacles that were holding me back, allowing me to connect with flow and ease.”
